Save an outing without a catch

Keep unsuccessful fishing and observations in your journal without inventing a fish.

Choose the outcome you actually know

A completed fishing outing with no catch differs from observing water or deciding not to fish. Choose the activity in the outing fields, and confirm no catch only when that is the outcome. An empty catch list alone does not prove a blank fishing trip.

  1. Open Trips and create or edit the outing, or review a processed voice recap with no catches.
  2. Check the date, activity, observations and any known active fishing time.
  3. Save the outing and reopen it from Trips to check the result. Keep original voice observations separate from edited journal wording.

When saving is interrupted

Check the existing pending item and retry the same save when offered. An uncertain response does not prove the first attempt failed. Keep the original recording and avoid creating a second outing just to clear a spinner.

Transcription and extraction need connectivity. Observation-only visits do not automatically become fishing effort, and elapsed start/end time does not establish active fishing time.
