Photo logging availability and limits

Understand when photo suggestions are available, what the image can establish and how to correct the result.

Check availability first

Log from photos and Fill from photo are controlled by both a build rollout and your account’s server-provided access. If an entry point is absent, use manual or voice catch entry. The presence of a photo in your journal does not mean automated identification is enabled.

Review the evidence

Where available, choose your fishing photos and review suggested details before saving. A species suggestion is uncertain and needs your confirmation. Verify the catch date and location: photo metadata may be absent, edited or belong to another place.

A photograph alone is not a trusted length or weight measurement. Keep a measured value or leave the field unknown; do not turn a visual guess into a recorded measurement.

Connectivity and file problems

Online AI needs connectivity even when photos can be held locally for later processing. HEIC decoding may also require an initial online load on that device. Keep original photos until the reviewed catches and attached images are saved.

For a failed upload or interrupted batch, inspect pending work before selecting the same photos again. If metadata is unavailable, enter the time and fishing location yourself. Use only photos you have permission to store and share.
